About Waypoint
Waypoint is designed to bring specialized and supplementary music education to areas in need. This includes understanding healthy pedagogical approaches, how to handle the college admissions process, and even basic knowledge of what different careers in music look like. Waypoint aims to not only equip young players with this critical information, but also provide these students with the access and resources to continue exploring their musical passions in different capacities. Camps are available for students in 7th-12th grade.

Westfield State University
Westfield, MA
A week-long workshop for harp players. Open to all students grades 7-12, including graduated seniors.

Large Ensembles
Students and staff will spend most of their time in the large ensemble, guided by the director. This ensemble will include warm-ups at the start of each day, time spent learning about healthy practice routines, and dedicated rehearsal time allowing students to rehearse and perform alongside their peers and staff.

Chamber Ensembles
Chamber ensembles are smaller, student-led brass quartets and quintets, guided by one of the Waypoint instructors. These ensembles aim to develop student leadership while introducing them to repertoire unique for brass players.

Group Lessons
Each student will have a designated instructor based on their instrument. Throughout the camp, students will have time with this instructor to focus on the fundamentals of their particular instrument and equip the students with tools to continue their personal musical growth.
